Spreading the love in Moffat

GIVE a little love to have a little hope and make the world better - that’s the message coming from Moffat.

As lockdown looks set to continue for another month, residents in the upper Annandale town are encouraging people to fill their windows and gardens with hearts.

Organiser Ashleigh Douglas said: “Home schooling, working at home, daily exercise schedules, Zoom calls, tighter restrictions on seeing friends and family all the norm until further notice.

“With a month until Valentines Day, we thought, why not spread the love to our neighbours, friends and family some of whom may be shielding again.

“Last lockdown we had rainbows, a symbol of hope.

“This lockdown let’s get some hearts out on our windows and in our gardens for all to see and to spread the love far and wide in these uncertain times that we are all in together.”

Ashleigh has suggested people could place a simple heart in the window or garden, or maybe do a big art project for the kids as part of their school work, or perhaps a large family project to help pass this next stage of measures.

There are no maps or prizes this time, it is just a wee task to lift spirits.
