SPRINGFIELD is the latest settlement to get a 20 mph speed limit.
It will come into effect on July 10 and run until January 2025.
Dumfries and Galloway Council have released a public notice showing the location of the speed limit, which will cover from the junction at the Famous Blacksmith’s Shop, up to Springfield Primary School, and to the end of Main Street.
Meanwhile, a temporary speed limit of 30mph will be imposed on the road running past the blacksmiths, stretching up to the BP Pulse Charging Station.
And a temporary speed limit of 40 mph is set to be imposed on the tail end of the B7076 leading down to the A74 roundabout.
The council say the move will “alleviate the likelihood of danger to the public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal cycles and pedestrians on the specified areas and roads.”
