There will be free coaching for all ages and abilities. All equipment (including footwear) will be supplied. Keep your eyes on the club’s Facebook page for updates on upcoming sessions, competitions and news of events in 2025 – the year which will celebrate 50 years of squash in Lockerbie.

In recent weeks the club been running a number of events since the start of the new season, with juniors and seniors enjoying coaching and friendly competitions.

Their monthly handicap competitions continue on the second Monday of the month at 6.30 pm. The club’s junior offering of a Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning coaching is going from strength to strength, with new junior additions welcomed last week.

They also recently hosted a session with students from Lockerbie Academy who attended a squash leaders course. There was a fantastic turnout and some positive feedback and potential on show. Club coach David Lindsay was delighted with the success and a few have expressed interest in working with the squash club.

On the back of the new young leaders session, junior squash have a welcome new recruit in Orlagh Smith. She is doing a young leadership course at Lockerbie Academy and has shown she would like to get involved in squash and coach the younger kids.
