Star squad ready for the new season

DALBEATTIE Star’s new-look squad kick off the new season at home to Edinburgh University on Saturday.

On the players front Steven Degnan has returned for his sixth season at the club.

Whilst new manager Jordan Williamson has been busy bringing players in after a number of last season’s squad departed.

New signings include goalkeeper Sam Henderson; defenders David Taylor, Dillon Black, Callum Galbraith, Jonathan Kavanagh and Lewis Ebbs; midfielders Scott Ballantyne, Andrew Caffrey, Russell Williamson, Thomas Kelly, and Steven Logan; and forwards Dale Milligan, Luke Currie and Jack Currie.

It was mixed fortunes in the pre-season friendlies for the Islecroft side. They started off well beating St Cuthbert Wanderers, but have since tasted defeat against both Creetown and Rossvale.
