Stars skate into 2020

YOUNG synchronised skaters from the region are gearing up for a busy few months.

The Solway teams, based in Dumfries, will be taking part in the inaugural Britannia Cup in Nottingham between January 11-13. This international and club international event will incorporate the British Synchronised Skating Championships. And live coverage of the event will be via the BBC Red Button, Connected TV and online.

Meanwhile, Nottingham is also the venue for the 2020 ISU Junior World Synchronised Skating Championships to be held on March 13-14, where over 20 international teams of 16 skaters will come together to compete for the world title.

Solway will take part in four categories, with the Comets in the beginner section; Lightning in the basic novice; Eclipse will be participating in mixed age, while Stars (pictured above) are in the ISU junior section.
