THE building, which is earmarked for redevelopment, has already been damaged and they are concerned that someone could end up getting seriously injured by playing on top of the roof, especially if it were to give way or collapse.

It is not the first time that the site has been vandalised and they are now urging everyone to stay away.

The centre is currently in the middle of plans to develop the building and move from their existing home in Victoria Halls. They are working as fast as they can to get work started and in the meantime they would very much appreciate if the area was left alone.

Day Centre manager, Emma Irving said: “I would urge parents to advise kids to stay off and away from the grounds of the old library building.

“There has been damage to the building before, including damage to the roof and we don’t want anyone getting hurt or injured.

“We are working towards getting a purpose built day centre at the site and there are still a lot of precesses and hoops to jump through with the council.

“We promise that when that is sorted we will put on a good day centre that will be good for the locality.”
