Stay away from pump track calls

A SAFETY warning has been given about the new Moffat pump track.

Parents and families in the town are being advised to keep their children off the site as it’s not yet finished.

Moffat Academy sent out a message, saying: “The new pump track is still being built and is not ready to use yet.

“We know many young people are excited, but some have started going onto the track. This is dangerous: the track is not finished and could cause accidents. The road near the track is very busy, and some children are not looking out for cars.

“Some are riding bikes without helmets or gloves, which is unsafe. We are really worried that someone could get seriously hurt.

“Please talk to your child and ask them to stay off the track until it’s open, and to always wear safety gear when cycling.”

It’s expected that the facility will be ready by mid July.
