Postal votes call as council election looms

MORE than half of postal voters have returned their voting packs, making sure they have their say in the local government election.

As of today, 58 per cent of postal votes have been returned for the May 4 vote.
Returning Officer for Dumfries and Galloway Council Gavin Stevenson, said: “When you receive your postal voting pack, make sure you read and follow the instructions carefully before completing your ballot paper.
“Don’t forget to include your date of birth and signature on the postal voting statement – unless you have been granted a waiver. Follow the instructions in the pack to make sure your vote counts.”
