A NEW scholarship fund has opened for students in the region undertaking university courses in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).
Operated by the Clyde WindFarm, the fund will give out six annual scholarships of £5000 over the three years, to different students.
And it’s open to applicants from Dumfries and Galloway, as well as
South Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders.
It has been created to help local students with their expenses while creating a pool of well-trained and experienced professionals, transforming career prospects and positively impacting future generations.
Daniel Hobson, director of Clyde Windfarm (Scotland) Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer these scholarships to people in the local area. Here at Clyde Wind Farm, we value community engagement that leads to positive impact and developing the STEM workforce demonstrates our commitment.”
More details are available at www.sserenewables.com/communities/scholarship-funds and the deadline for applications is Wednesday September 13.
