Stolen vehicle hunt

A PICK up worth £18,000 has been stolen from a village in the region.

The blue Toyota Hilux, registration R50SWT, was taken from outside a cottage near Amisfield, at the side of the A701, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

And the property where the vehicle was stolen from was also entered and two ladies handbags were stolen. They contained small amounts of cash, debit and credit cards and other personal items.

Police are investigating and Constable Stephen Dickson said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in or around the Amisfield area in the early ours of Saturday morning. The A701 road which passes the cottage was closed at the time for repairs.

“Any sightings of the vehicle after it was stolen would also be helpful.”

Callers can contact us on the 101 number and should quote the reference 1036 of 18/8.
