Storm Eleanor updates

STORM Eleanor sparked a major incident to be declared in the region on Wednesday.

Gusts of up to 72 mph were recorded locally overnight Tuesday to Wednesday and strong winds brought down trees, resulting in some roads being closed.

Police Scotland declared a major incident at 12.30 am and worked with partners from the council and fire and rescue service to provide a response to calls for assistance through until 4.40 am.

Council roads crews were kept busy clearing obstructions on the roads, including the fallen trees.
