Members of staff, health and safety officers, members of the project team, trade union representatives and the constructor all visited the £28m North West Community Campus on Friday after a pupil was reportedly hurt there last week, just days into the new school year.
In a statement, Dumfries and Galloway Council said checks had now been carried out across the whole building and all parties were satisfied that the building will be safe for use by pupils and staff again this week.
However, the decision was taken to close the campus for the two days ” to enable staff training to take place so that they have the confidence and knowledge of all procedures to operate the facility”.
The campus was hit with another issue earlier this summer when a ceiling had to be taken down in the staff room after the discovery of a leak.
