Tall ship sails into Annan Harbour

A MAJESTIC tall sailing ship arrived in Annan Harbour on Friday afternoon and immediately attracted onlookers.

Dumfries businessman Roy Kerr and his crew sailed his tall ship, the ‘La Malouine,’ into the Solway port on a high tide in advance of a special event.

Coastal rowing teams from across Scotland were due to arrive in Annan with their St Ayles skiffs — a traditional rowing boat — to race from the town across the Solway Firth to Bowness on Solway in England.

The racing spectacle begins at 12 noon on Saturday and the ‘La Malouine’ is expected to attract visitors to the Burgh Quay until departing on a high tide on Sunday.
