Team triumph

A TEAM from Annan were crowned champions of the inaugural Scottish Football Association Disability Football League at the weekend.

Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sport put forward a team from the Royal Burgh to compete in the league, which will run for three seasons, and they were delighted to be undefeated in all their matches.
They topped the SFA Disability League 1 on Sunday and are now working in partnership with Annan Athletic to further develop disability football in the area, while also raising the profile of the sport at a club level.
Team coach George Morrison, who is also chairman of Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sport, said: “I would like to congratulate the footballers on all their hard work, commitment and dedication throughout the season.
“I am very proud of them all and look forward to working with Annan Athletic next season developing disability football.”
