The Rams wave goodbye to 2024

MOFFAT Rams’ final game of 2024 was postponed on Saturday due to the opposition having insufficient players.

The Rams were due to entertain Hyndland at the Holm in a West Division Three clash.

The visitors have since been sanctioned four points by Scottish Rugby.

And the postponement means Moffat end the calendar year in mid table with three wins and three defeats.

On Sunday it was a busy final session of the year for the club’s junior and youth sections.

Top trainer awards for the primary section went to Reuben, Struan, Lewis, Arlo, Charlie and Angus.

Elsewhere, the youths were in action across the region.

The U14 combined Stewartry/Moffat team kept up their amazing season, taking on top tier GHK and winning 66-14.

Meanwhile, the U16 Galloway girls, featuring Moffat representation, took a narrow win against Ayrshire edging in 43-40.

The U16 Annan/Moffat side continued their unbeaten run with some great performances and a first silverware – D and G Wilderness Champions 2024. They won 38-15 against Wigtownshire and 29-14 against Stewartry.

Try scorers were Alex x4, Dyllan, Andrew A and Vincent.

And finally congratulations are expressed to to Gemma Todd who was part of the winning Dumfries side in the U18 Shield beating Cambuslang.

Thanks are expressed to all the parents, coaches, volunteers and sponsors who keep these opportunities going and also to regional partners who assist the youths with game time and training.
