Three sleeps to go!

ABOUT 40,000 young people are expected to attend Youth Beatz 2025 in Dumfries this weekend.

The free music festival at Park Farm on Saturday and Sunday is in its 16th year and is a sellout once again.

This year’s headliners are Jax Jones, Liberty X, Alice Mae Muller, ili, DJ Sammy and Kerr Mercer.

There will also be variety of Dumfries and Galloway’s young and upcoming performers, including dancers, singers, DJs and musicians.

In addition, there will be inflatables, a kids’ tent, dirt factory pump track, youth work tent, The Realm giant inflatable and fairground rides.

In the youth information area, local and national organisations will be promoting their services for young people, alongside the council’s Youth Work Area.

The hard hitting, immersive and interactive youth learning experience – The Toon presents an alternative take on common issues that affect young people in their day-to-day lives. Topics addressed will include cardiac health, poverty, alcohol and drugs, knife crime, sectarianism and domestic abuse.

There will be a dedicated quiet area and sensory space and British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters will be available for general queries.

Councillor Tracey Little commented on the final preparations, saying: “We would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers who were involved in the planning and delivery of this event, without whose effort and commitment we could not have pulled off another successful Youth Beatz event.

“Our council is proud to host the UK’s largest free youth music event, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Park Farm.”

It is recommended that people arrive early and there will be no admission into the event after 8.30 pm on both days. Attendees can bring in packed lunches, but there are no liquids permitted.
