Ticket office times to change

CHANGES to ticket office hours at Lockerbie station will begin at the end of next month

ScotRail will alter the opening hours from March 31 in order to ‘deliver more visible customer support at stations’.

However, some stations will see a reduction in opening hours and at Lockerbie this means that the ticket office will be open from 7 am to 8.20 pm Monday to Saturday; compared to the current 6.50 am to 8.45 pm weekdays and 5.50 am-8.45 am on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, Sundays will change from 10.50 am to 6 pm, to 10.10 am to 5.50 pm instead.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail customer operations director, said: “The changes that will be introduced from 31 March will provide a service that is better suited for the ticket-buying habits of our customers today, rather than 30 years ago, and will create an environment that improves safety and customer support.

“We have listened to colleagues, customers, and the trade unions throughout this process and have made changes to the proposals based on that feedback.”
