Time to break the costly habit!

It comes after Murphy admitted his side need to find a solution fast after another late show cost them more points.

The Doonhamers have developed a concerning habit of conceding late goals. It has happened in four of their last five League One matches.

And after ex-Palmy player/manager Wullie Gibson netted from the spot to earn a deserved point for Annan in the derby, Murphy is well aware his side need to address the problem quickly or potentially face another season in the third tier.

He said: “We conceded late again, this time it was the 87th minute. We go back to Dumbarton, Arbroath, Kelty and now Annan. We’ve got to be a lot more astute, clever and experienced.

“It’s just unfortunate now that in four of our last five games we’ve paid the price in the last six minutes of games. That’s what needs to be addressed and our away form.”

And with Cove Rangers – who swept aside Inverness last time out – coming to Dumfries this weekend, a victory is vital. If Queens were to lose to Paul Hartley’s Aberdeen outfit then they would be nine points off the promotion play-off spots.

On the Cove encounter, Murphy said: “Every game is important. Everybody’s beating everybody. You see Dumbarton beating Kelty.

“But we can’t really look at those other results, we need to concentrate on our own.”
