A MOFFAT bed and breakfast welcomed a famous guest last week.
TV presenter Timmy Mallet stopped in the town on his whistle stop tour of the region and stayed at Queensberry House.
Known for TV shows The Wide Awake Club and Wac-a-day and his trademark colourful style, Timmy has since become a passionate ambassador for the South of Scotland, and attended the South of Scotland Destination Alliance 2025 conference in Peebles where he rode into the conference hall on his bike to much applause.
Commenting on their famous guest, Caroline Egan, co-owner of Queensberry House, said: “He was the loveliest guest, very appreciative of our humble B&B, and so funny. He had us in stitches the whole time. And he loves this area for its unique landscapes, history and heritage.”
Fellow co-owner Miles Hargreaves, added: “What an honour to have the famous Timmy Mallett to stay. We’ll be dining out on that one for years!
“It was a bit nerve-racking having a celebrity guest visiting but we just looked after him as we do with all our guests.”
