Sitting top of the professional driver standings on 201 points, Gordie has a narrow lead over Scott Mitchell in second with 185 points.

While Gordie also currently leads the championship standings with 219 points alongside teammate Jimmy.

But everything is still to play for as 68 points are available over the course of the weekend and both drivers will have to be on top of their game to deny others an opportunity to overtake the lead.

Speaking to the Annandale Series, Gordie said: “Heading into the final round I am pretty relaxed. We have done a good job this season so to do anything different from what we have been doing may lead to errors.

“So for me I am just going to another day of work, just like any other weekend. It allows me to not put any pressure on myself.

“We have now had wins at round three, four and five as well a win in the Spa 6 Hour event in Belgium, so momentum is on our side.

“I think it is easy to get nervous or maybe even erratic when a title is on the line, for me I don’t feel this way. I will do what I have done all year, no added risk.

“If we do this then we have a very strong likelihood to take the title at Donington.”
