Tom’s musical tribute to the region

A DUMFRIES resident has produced a song which celebrates the loveliness of the region.

Tom McCartney, who is originally from Ayr, this week uploaded his tribute video, which is titled ‘I Want To Be In Galloway’, to Youtube.

It features different landmarks across the region, including Kindar House in Dumfries and Criffel whilst the lyrics read ‘And I keep on going to Galloway, again and again and again’.

Tom said: “The song was written when I was living down in London five years ago, but managed to make two to three visits back to the area every year. “We have changed some of the lyrics so it goes well with the song as a whole. I wish I was out and about exploring the region right now but we cannot and I totally understand that, we will get back there again soon and appreciate this beautiful area. Since the video was posted it has received positive comments from people as far afield as Canada.
