MASTER CHEF: The Professionals winner, Gary McLean will be showing off his skills in Moffat.
Scotland’s National Chef is coming to cook at the Black Bull next month.
Gary will be in Moffat to deliver a culinary masterclass to young people from the area in an event organised in partnership with Chefs In Scotland and Lowland Brewing, which aims to encourage young people to consider hospitality as a career.
Six lucky pupils from Dumfriesshire schools and six college students have been chosen to attend the exciting event and will receive first-hand advice and tips from this highly regarded, notable chef who has climbed to the very top of his profession. Gary was also awarded the Mark Twain award in 2021 by the St Andrew’s Society of New York for his work in Scottish-American relations.
Speaking ahead of Gary’s visit, The Black Bull Inn said via social media: “We at The Black Bull Inn, are extremely excited and proud that Scotland’s top chef is coming to Moffat and showcasing his cooking talent from our humble hotel. “We are delighted to have the chance to provide our input and participate in this event at time when hospitality is suffering a huge recruitment crisis. What an accolade for us and as we come to the end of a very, very challenging year, things like this make it all worthwhile.
“We are now counting down the days until we welcome Gary to the inn.”
Gary will be visiting The Black Bull Inn in Moffat on Thursday October 20.
