Tornadoes bid to retain trophy

LOCKERBIE Tornadoes Basketball Club will get a shot at silverware next month after progressing to the Anderson Cup Final.

They defeated the North Lanarkshire Chiefs 80-57 at Lockerbie Academy on Tuesday night in the semi final match-up.

The 23 point win for the Tornadoes means the Lockerbie side will head to Playsport East Kilbride on Sunday April 27 where they will try to retain the cup that they won last season.

But they will face tough opposition in Glasgow Fever, with both teams winning their home fixtures against each other in the league this year it will make for an excellent game for the cup final.

Thanks were expressed to everyone who came down to cheer the team on midweek, it was probably the most spectators the club has had at a game this season and the y say the support does not go unnoticed.

Lockerbie switch to league action on Thursday night as they travel to take on the NL Titans.

A win for Lockerbie would be enough for them to secure the SLBA title.
