COMPLETE with its own turret, holding cell and dungeon, a former police station building in Annan town centre fetched £195,000 after going under the hammer yesterday.

Future Property Auction’s timed online auction on Thursday included 2-4 Bank Street as one of the lots.

Listed as a vacant freehold commercial, the description described the property as a “Unique Baronial style detached building in red sandstone, locally known as Court Castle.

“(It has) 27 room property complete with its own turret, holding cell and dungeon.

“(It was) historically used as a police station with two entrance doors, both of which are served by access ramps.

“The main entrance leads into an arched hallway with sandstone walls and a solid brick ceiling.

“There is good provision of toilet facilities throughout including accessible toilets on the ground floor.

“(It has a) prominent position within Annan Town Centre close to Glasgow-London mainline train link.

“The floors are solid masonry and suspended timber construction with a mix of carpet, laminate, and vinyl coverings.”
