ANNAN Athletic have returned to pre-season training and the squad were pictured this week being put through their paces by player/manager Wullie Gibson.
Gibson, right, is pictured with returning midfielder Josh Todd. The Black and Golds play their first friendly fixture tomorrow afternoon with a behind closed doors contest away to Dundee United – spectators should note that no fans will be permitted.
And on Tuesday night they make the short trip to Raydale Park to face Lowland League side Gretna 2008. Tickets for this encounter are available now on Fanbase priced at £5 or free for U16s. Kick off in Gretna is at 8 pm.
It was also revealed who Annan would be facing on the first day of the League One season after the fixtures were released yesterday morning. Athletic will begin their new era with an away trip to Cove on August 3. They play their first home match on August 10 against Duncan Ferguson’s Inverness. Meanwhile, the first derby contest will fall just a week later in Dumfries as Annan head to Queens on August 17.
Also towards the end of last week the club announced that Lewis Hunter and Josh Galloway have both departed Galabank to pursue other opportunities.
Hunter has joined Spartans and Galloway has penned a deal with Workington Reds.
