DEPUTY lord lieutenant Alison Hall has laid a wreath at the base of The Queen’s Tree outside the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries.

The maple was planted by Her Late Majesty in July 2010 with help of head gardener Gary McCormick, who joined Mrs Hall.

Lifting the lid on national park life

LIFE in a National Park was the focus of a webinar hosted recently by the South of Scotland Destination Alliance with representatives of the Cairngorms National Park. The aim was to allow businesses from Dumfries and Galloway to discuss the impact of national parks and the experience of the Cairngorms.
