THREE men are being reported to the Procurator Fiscal after they were caught in a car last night with £25k of suspected stolen property.
Officers from Lockerbie’s roads policing unit stopped the vehicle on the A74(M) for road traffic offences.
But, on speaking with the occupants, it was established that all three were wanted by Dumfries Town Centre community officers for high value thefts from stores in Dumfries.
All three were subsequently arrested and a search of the car revealed the haul of suspected stolen property.
A force spokesman said: “The males are believed to be part of a travelling crime group who have travelled around Scotland to commit thefts.
“All three will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal at Dumfries.”
