The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has contacted its members to warn them of the shutdown next month of the site at Hangingshaw, near Johnstonebridge.
In a notice on their website, the RHA said: “We are making operators and drivers aware of the planned closure of Lockerbie Lorry Park next month.
“The strategically important Scottish site, adjacent to the A74 and between junctions 16 and 17, has 160 lorry bays and a 24-hour café.
“Critical for driver welfare, the stop provides a range of facilities including showers, a launderette, changing rooms, a licensed bar and safe parking.”
Reacting to the closure news on social media, one driver said: “It’s a massive blow for truck drivers yet again. It was always a good place to stop at with good food and showers. It will be hugely missed.”
Lorry park staff last month revealed they had entered a consultation with the owners.
Currently the site is closed at weekends due to staff shortages.
Meanwhile, the RHA have called on the Scottish Government to accelerate their audit of lorry parking spaces and engage with stakeholders to address these problems.
They are also pushing the government to provide better, safer and more facilities for HGV drivers.
Lockerbie Lorry Park were contacted for comment.
