Two arrested and charged following drugs recovery in Stranraer

Two men have appeared in court following a drugs bust in Stranraer on Thursday.

Officers arrested two men after stopping a car on the A75 near the junction with Commerce Road around 1 pm on Thursday.

A quantity of cocaine with an estimated value of £14,000 and cannabis with an estimated value of £3,800 were recovered.

A 32-year-old man and a 42-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection with drug offences. They appeared at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Friday.

Detective Constable Jill Cash said: “Drugs cause misery on our communities and Police Scotland is committed to bringing those involved in the misuse of illegal substances to justice.

“The public has an important role to play and anyone with information about drugs is asked to contact us on 101, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
