Two hurt in A76 crash

A MAN and a woman are in hospital following a serious road collision near Auldgirth yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A76 at its junction with Friars Carse, three miles north of Dumfries, at about 12.25 pm.

It involved a car and a motorcycle and the male rider and female driver were both taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

The road at the scene was closed and diversions are in place to allow crash scene investigations to be carried out.
