Tyre shocker

OFFICERS from Dumfries Galloway Police have been checking vehicle roadworthiness during their patrols as part of Tyre Safety Month.

And they were surprised at what they saw when they stopped the driver of this car in the region recently.

A force spokesperson said: “They thought it was acceptable to drive with their tyre in this condition.

“Damaged and unsafe tyres are more likely to fail when braking or in an emergency and could result in potentially tragic consequences.”
