Urgent accomodation appeal for trials

AN URGENT appeal has been made to help accommodate thousands of visitors expected in Upper Annandale this September.

Moffat and area is bracing itself for an influx when the 2015 International Sheep Dog Trials take place at Meikleholm Farm, Courance from September 10 to 12.

And the event organisers urgently need more accommodation to cope with growing demand for space. Anything from hostels to spare rooms, bunkhouses, B&Bs and hotels are being sought to be registered online, so long as they are available during the trials and within reach of Parkgate.

The Moffat Promotions Group are urging locals to advertise accommodation on their website.

Member Sarah Ottewell said: “The website already has lots of different types of accom – modation listed to suit competitors, judges, film crews, competitors’ supporters, visitors from the UK, and from all over the world.

“However all this accommodation is now fully booked.”
