IT'S polling day in the local government elections and DNG Media are urging all voters to make it count.

Polling stations will be open across the region up until 10 pm tonight – but thousands of people have already sent in their postal votes, like Alastair Barr, 83, pictured above left with Alastair MacDonald, 82, both from Moffat.

The count takes place at the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries tomorrow and our reporting teams will be there covering the results. Keep an eye on this website tomorrow, as well as our Facebook page and Twitter feed (@dng_24) for the latest and to find out who your new councillors are.
