Vandals go on damage spree

ELEVEN vehicles were damaged in another spate of vandalism in Dumfries over the weekend.

A black Renault Clio parked in Lochside Road had a window smashed at around 4.15 am on Saturday morning.
A Landrover Freelander, a Renault Master van and a Ford Transit pick-up each had a tyre vandalised while parked in Oliphant Court overnight Friday to Saturday.
A Honda Civic car parked in Criffel Road had a window smashed sometime Saturday to Sunday.
And a VW Beetle parked in Eastfield Road had a mirror smashed sometime between Friday and Sunday.
Overnight Saturday to Sunday a grey Toyota Celica car had a tyre punctured while parked at Lewars Avenue; a green Citroen Xsara car had a mirror smashed while parked in Criffel Avenue; and a green Skoda Octavia car had a mirror smashed while parked in Criffel Avenue that night.
Overnight Sunday to Monday, a white Ford Focus had two windows smashed while parked at the Shortridge Unit in Irongray Road and in Rotchell Road a grey Skoda Fabia car had a window smashed.
Police are investigating and Constable Simon Gleave said: “These acts of vandalism continue to cost the victims a great deal of money and inconvenience and we again appeal to the public to come forward if they have any information which might help us catch those responsible.”
