Victims remembered

HUNDREDS of people across the region stood in silence and solidarity this morning to remember the victims of Friday's terror attack in Paris.

A minutes silence was held in towns and villages with some schools even joining in.

Shoppers at Gretna Gateway Outlet Village paused in their festive preparations to think of the 129 who were killed in the French capital.

One said: “It was very moving and I had to wipe away a tear. It’s all I’ve been able to think about this weekend, it’s just so, so sad.

“Vive la France.”

Meanwhile, the Rivendell Guest House in Dumfries lit up in tricolour over the weekend to honour the dead. The building is pictured.
