Warwick goes straight into the deep end

After taking over the reins following the departure of Jordan Williamson, Warwick said: “We are under no illusions of just how difficult and how big the task ahead of us is.

“We have taken over on a three-year deal so this will give us the time, we feel we need to improve the club in all its aspects.”

Due to the hectic Lowland League fixture schedule, the new management team were unable to hold a single training session before their first two games against The Spartans and Gala Fairydean.

Star slumped to a 6-0 defeat in Warwick’s first game in charge at Ainslie Park. Ex Annan forward Blair Henderson netted a hat-trick for The Spartans, while Kevin Waugh, Jamie Dishington, Rhys Armstrong got a goal each for the Edinburgh side.

Star were on their travels once again during midweek. Opponents Gala Fairydean were also on a poor run of form going into the game, having played nine without a win. Martin Scott and Danny Galbraith found the net for Gala in the first half. And the home managed to hang on, keep a clean sheet and get back to winning ways.

This Saturday Berwick Rangers are the visitors to Islecroft for the new management teams first home game in charge. Ko is at 3 pm.
