Watches and cash taken in £8k break-in

A HIGH value break-in at a house in Kirkgunzeon involving the theft of cash and watches is being probed by police.

Police Scotland is investigating the break-in which took place sometime between 1.30 pm and midnight on Saturday September 26 while the occupants were out.
A number of watches valued at nearly £3000 and cash in excess of £5000 was taken.
Detective Constable Gregg Armstrong of Police Scotland at Dumfries said: “This appears to be a targeted break-in and has taken place whilst the occupants were out.
“Some of the cash taken was money raised as part of a charity boxing night.
“We are conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area and ask that anyone who was in Kirkgunzeon on Saturday afternoon or evening to get in touch if they saw or heard anything which might help with this investigation.
“Calls can be made through the 101 number, or if they want to remain anonymous, then through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”
