Walkers enjoyed a bonfire at Barnkirk Point before walking back to the harbour where refreshments were had and another bonfire was lit.
Annan History Town Group were at the finish line along with sculptor Nate Robinson, and there were opportunities for people to forge their own unique pieces for the planned public art centrepiece.
Ben Jones, from Viking Leathers (Annan High Street), also joined to explain the processes of leather making, and he encouraged people to have a go at helping to make a leather cover for a book which will archive the forging of the project.
In a social media post, an AHAG spokesperson said: “A huge thank you to everyone who braved the challenging weather to be part of our Solstice Walk yesterday!
“Despite the wind and rain, the festive spirit was alive and well as we gathered around the bonfire and walked together from the shore to the harbour with our lighted torches. What a moment of unity and resilience!
“A special thanks to our incredible team of volunteers, whose hard work and attention to detail made everything run smoothly warmed us up with hot soups and drinks.
“We’re also deeply grateful to Annan the History Town Group for their meaningful forging workshop and engaging leather-making demonstration, which added such a unique touch to the event.”
Thanks are expressed to Annandale Community Transport Services, Spectrum and everyone else who took part.
