Weather warning

RAIN battered the region on Wednesday and led to stretches of flooding on roads across the area.

The Met Office had issued a yellow warning of rain across Dumfries and Galloway from Wednesday until the early hours of Thursday.

And it led to reports of localised flooding on roads around Annandale and Eskdale, including parts of the A7 near Langholm, the B722 outside Annan (pictured above) and Empire Way in Gretna, as well as on the B721 at Rigg and B724 near Cummertrees.
