Wedding fever on 'Twosday'

TUESDAY saw 32 weddings hosted in Gretna, as people flocked to have the palindrome as their special date. Nicknamed ‘Twosday’, 22/2/22 was the most special date in a decade according to experts and what better place to get married than the border love town. The day started off miserably with rain and hail pouring down until the sun broke through and blue skies awaited the many couples, many of whom gathered at Gretna Hall where there was a wedding every half an hour for most of the day.
One group had travelled from as far as America, ill-dressed for the cold Scottish weather but happy and smiling nonetheless.
A horse and carriage brought in one bride and another posed for pictures with her new husband’s motorbike, with all of them being giddy and excited to walk down the aisle.
