A FLOOD alert has been issued for Dumfries and Galloway, ahead of the weekend’s heavy rain forecast.
The Scottish Environment and Protection Agency (SEPA) issued the warning earlier today. Very strong and gusty winds and heavy rain associated with Storm Betty are forecasted for early on Saturday, which could lead to some flooding impacts from surface water and small watercourses.
Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network. Impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads with difficult driving conditions. Isolated properties may also be at risk.
Residents in flood prone areas are encouraged to remain vigilant, the flood alert is now in force until further notice.
