A RENEWABLE energy company is holding a second round of consultation events as part of its proposals for a six-turbine windfarm near Sanquhar.

Koehler Renewable Energy (KRE) has proposed the Rowancraig Wind Farm be built around four kilometres to the west of Sanquhar.

Project designs include six turbines with a maximum tip height of 180m – a change from the originally proposed eight turbines at the same height.

The first public event will take place at the Miners Memorial Centre on Needle Street in Sanquhar from 2-7pm on Wednesday August 30.

The second event is at Sanquhar’s Nithsdale Hotel at 1 High Street on Thursday 31 August from 2-7pm.

KRE has submitted a planning application notice to Dumfries and Galloway Council which has formally notified the authority of the company’s intention to submit a planning application for the project.
