Woman accused of putting children at risk

A WOMAN has been accused in court at Dumfries of exposing four children, aged between five and ten, to the possibility of unnecessary suffering or danger to their health.

It’s alleged she left sharp instruments, including knives, scissors and an uncapped hypodermic syringe, lying around in open view in a house in Dumfries.

The 30-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons involving the children, is alleged to have committed the offence last month.

She is also accused of leaving medication within their reach and failing to provide the children with clean clothing, bedding and food.

The case was this week continued for a fortnight.
