Woman hurt in rural accident

A WOMAN was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary following an accident on the B6357 Annan to Kirkpatrick Fleming road on Friday.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision which happened on a narrow rural stretch of the route with a series of tight bends at Broats Cottage, near Hollee.

The woman was detained in hospital for observation but her injuries were not thought to be serious.

A road closure was in place until the vehicles were recovered and diversions were set up on side roads.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said tonight that enquiries were ongoing and that anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened around 9.45 am, is asked to contact officers at Annan on the non-emergency 101 number.
