Woman trapped after crash

A THREE-VEHICLE collision in the heart of Dumfries saw fire crews rescue a woman trapped in her car early this morning.

Emergency services rushed to Lochside Road after the crash at about 12.15 am involving a blue Renault Captur car being driven by a 41-year-old woman from Dumfries, a green Fiat 500 car being driven by a 53 year old woman from Dumfries and a silver Renault Megane car which was parked at the time.
As a result, the two female drivers and a male passenger in the Fiat car were all taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary by ambulance with various whiplash and other injuries.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance and released the driver of the Renault Captur car who was trapped by her seatbelt.
Enquiries into the cause of the collision are ongoing.
