Woman rescued from Nith

A WOMAN was rescued from the River Nith in Dumfries this morning, in an operation involving police, fire and ambulance services.

Just after 12 noon on Friday, a 48-year-old woman was seen entering the river near to the Dock Park.
Emergency services which also included the Coastguard and Nith Inshore Rescue Service attended the scene.
The woman was rescued from the river near Castledykes at about 12.50 pm and taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary by ambulance for treatment.
