‘Wool’ you knit a bit for sheep races?

CAN you felt a fish supper or crochet a character from Moffat?

Or perhaps your talents lie in weaving a wee bit of Moffat Toffee?
If so you are being called upon to help a yarnstorm project as part of the annual Moffat Sheep Races.
Presbytery deacon for the Churches of Scotland in Moffat, Lockerbie and Lochmaben Angela Brydson is calling on nifty knitters and canny crocheters to make colourful decorations for St Andrew’s Church grounds for the popular sheep races next month.
She said: “Suggestions include birds, butterflies, flowers or things to do with characters in Moffat, e.g. aeroplane for Dowding, fish and chips for Toosh, sweets for the Toffee Shop, granny squares to cover a tree trunk for the ‘Mad Minister’ of Moffat.
“Basically the sky is the limit, anything that will brighten up the town for this special day.”
