ALDI has donated 5722 meals to those in need in the Dumfries and Galloway area.
Aldi partnered with local groups to bring fresh, chilled foods to people during the Christmas season. This partnership helped 78 per cent of organisations more concerned than ever about meeting the high demand.
Aldi also donated £25,000 to Neighbourly’s GoGive Christmas campaign to express its ongoing support. Over 2000 Christmas lunches were additionally given out to the social enterprise Community Shop.
“The services provided by food banks are more important than ever over the festive period and we’re committed to ensuring those that rely on them have access to a wide range of high-quality foods,” said Luke Emery, from Aldi UK.
People can continue to donate at food banks, charities, and donation points at nearby Aldi stores.
