You can go to the prom

YOUNG people who missed out on their prom night due to the pandemic are getting the chance to get dressed up.

A special prom night event is taking place in January for 18 to 21 year olds.

It is being organised as part of the Big Burns Supper by Cara Vallance, 21, from Dumfries, who is now a student at Queen Margaret University.

“Prom Night Party” will include two live music acts, a DJ set, photo booth, hot food, free professional photography, a karaoke room, and an adult bounce castle.

Cara is looking for anyone who wishes to help organise the event, as well as young bands or artists who would like to play in the Spiegeltent during the event, on Thursday January 27 2022.

She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people, especially after the past two years with the stress of exams during a pandemic, and then heading off to university or college. Prom is a brilliant opportunity to say goodbye and welcome a new chapter in their life and young people really need this experience!

“Our young people need to make memories that will stay with them for life, despite it being two years later.”
